Job Description

Digital Marketing Partners is a boutique digital marketing agency in Northbrook, IL, about 20 minutes north of Chicago. We’re looking for a part-time graphic designer who will work out of our office as projects come up.

Our clients range from healthcare technology to food and beverage brands to jewelry and other ecommernce brands, so the work changes a lot from one project to the next. In the same week, you might design a LinkedIn ad that a busy executive actually wants to click and a set of Instagram stories for a consumer product launch. The designers who do well here enjoy that variety instead of wishing every project looked the same.

How the hours will work

While we hope it could turn into full-time one day, this is a project-based role, which means the hours will go up and down depending on what our clients need that month. Some weeks we’ll have a campaign launch that needs ad units in six sizes, three social variations, and a landing page, and other weeks we’ll only have a one-pager to refresh. We’ll tell you what’s coming as far ahead as we can so you can plan around it. This works well for someone who freelances, is finishing a degree, or wants real agency work without a 40-hour commitment. It won’t work well for someone who needs the same 20 hours every week.

What you’ll be designing

• Paid social and display ads for Meta, LinkedIn, Google, Reddit, and programmatic
• Organic social graphics and templates
• Landing pages and email templates
• Sales decks, one-pagers, case studies, and the occasional trade show booth
• Light motion and video editing if you have it, which is a plus and not a requirement

What we’re looking for

• You’re fast and comfortable in Figma and the Adobe suite, and you can turn around a round of revisions the same day when a client needs it
• You enjoy working within a client’s brand guidelines, and you’re confident enough to suggest a better approach when you think the guidelines are holding the work back
• You can switch between a polished deck for a law firm and something bold and playful for a consumer brand without either one looking like the other
• You can take direction from an account team and speak up when you have a better idea
• You’ll be in our Northbrook office when you’re working, so you need to be in the Chicago area
